How prices are generated fairly

DRIPX/USD is a simulated index updated every 0.5 seconds. Each hour of prices comes from a new server seed: the SHA-256 hash of the seed is published before that hour starts and the seed is revealed when it ends. The step at tick t: b = HMAC_SHA256(seed, t), s = b0 + b1 + b2 + b3 − 510 (times 4 when b4 < 3), new price = old price + trunc(old price × s ÷ 500000). Up and down steps are exactly symmetric, so nobody, the house included, can predict or steer the price once the seed is committed.

How to play Up Down

Each round lasts 25 seconds. In the first 15 seconds you pick Up (price will rise) or Down (price will fall) and your stake. When orders close, the price at that moment is the start price; 10 seconds later comes the end price. If the end price is higher, Up wins; lower, Down wins; equal, everyone is refunded. The winning side shares the whole pool of both sides (including 1,000 points of house liquidity on each side) minus the fee, in proportion to stakes – the less popular side pays more. The odds shown change with every new order until orders close.

Who pays the winners?

The winning side shares a pool made of both sides' stakes plus the liquidity the house adds to each side, minus the fee. So even when you play alone, a win pays almost double.

Why do the odds change?

The odds depend on how many points each side holds. The side with fewer points pays more. Odds are final when the 15 seconds of orders end.

Can the price be manipulated?

No. Prices come from a server seed whose hash is published in advance; the seed is revealed after each hour so you can recompute every tick yourself.
